Theoretical concept- collective intelligence Reading through Lens 1 I learnt the importance of connectivity on this course as it is about being a community, we use web 2.0 to connect with other people frequently via Skype and our blogs. We are all able to create discussion/ debate via comments and get involved with what we each are doing to progress with our studies. We use our “collective intelligence” to help reflect on the process of the course, we don’t all have to agree or be doing the same thing we are just communicating our own ideas. Mark Zuckerburg (Facebook founder) said that connectivity is a basic human right this links in with ethics as we question the truth behind this statement. We don’t all have equal access to the internet and therefore connectivity for some is more accessible for some than others. What is my practice? Skype call discussion

Today i attended the 12:30 call with Adesola and Helen. We discussed in the call the meaning of our 'practice' and what makes up our practice. An important thing we discussed is how your practice is ever changing and it will not stay the same throughout your career. For example you may start out as a dancer and then over time your practice may change to a dance teacher. A transition that is important is that from collage to the professional industry. The transition from how teachers at school perceive you to how you are perceived in the industry as a professional, your self image is an important part of being a professional on social media. Your social media and all forms of web 2.0 are vital for self promotion and how you're perceived as a professional.
