Oona Thompson

This week I intend to start my artefact, has anyone started theirs yet? I have been thinking about different ways i can present this and so far i am thinking about doing a written artefact as it is how i feel i can portray my inquiry response well. How is everyone else progressing with the assigned tasks?

Back again! My blog-spot hasn't been working since i started back on module three, now i am up and running! My data collection process went to plan, i have kept to my timetable! I have just got past my analysis process and am now completing my essay, i changed my title at the beginning of the module from "What support systems are out there for independent dancers in the industry" to "What is the difference between help and support and how do you notice them in your practice" as i feel suit my practice more and i get a greater understanding of when i offered them in my practice. What is your understanding of support and help? Comment Below!

Coming to the end of module 2 i am finalising my work, i have learnt so much this term about the process of making an inquiry and also on my inquiry topic i have learnt so much about support systems for dancers that i never knew about. I look forward to module three finding out even more and broadening my knowledge. I will do another blog post before i turn my work in.  Oona

I am back, I have been experiencing difficulty accessing my blog due to my google plus account. Throughout this module i have been learning so many things that previously i never realised went into an inquiry i have learnt about gannt charts, qualitative data i have found out about different data collection methods. I am looking forward to getting started on module three and carrying out my inquiry. I am waiting to receive my feedback in order to improve on my work and develop ideas. My inquiry of "What support systems are out there for independant dancers" is very personal to my professional practice and one that i feel as though we can benefit from when we know what different professionals feel about the support offered to them in the industry. Comment below any ideas or thoughts you have.

I have now begun my essay introduction and my chosen inquiry is "What support systems are out there for independent dancers" This is very broad but my focus is particularly on those with body image struggles/eating disorders and also those with injury as a lot of thought goes into their physical well being whereas there isn't a lot that goes into their emotional and mental well being. I have chosen this as my inquiry topic as i think it would be great to understand different peoples experiences and journeys through dance, in order to help those in the future. Any ideas on what you think about this topic would be appreciated greatly Also how are you all getting on choosing which methodology's you are using to get your information be it interviews,  questionnaires or any other ideas you have ? I would love to hear your ideas Oona

Methodology/ Methods Upon reading the module handbook i havent yet come to terms with the difference between methodology and method , has anybody else found this and if so please comment below your ideas
